RECALIBRATING INSTAGRAM in 2026

For writers and authors fed up of feeling pulled around by Instagram, RECALIBRATING INSTAGRAM is a 4 week project to take back the steering wheel of your Instagram account and renew your sense of purpose on the platform you use everyday.

Somewhere along the way, Instagram stopped feeling like a place to express yourself, or a place where you enjoy connections and community, and started feeling like a place that takes something from you.

Maybe you scroll without thinking. Maybe posting feels heavier than it should. Maybe you feel overwhelmed by the noise and constant pressure to react.

Maybe you can’t quite name it, but something feels… off, and it’s stopping you from showing up, even though you understand how important visibility is for today’s writers and authors.

Recalibrating Instagram is about finding your way to using Instagram in a more considered manner than we have become accustomed to. This way of using Instagram is slower, more deliberate, more intentional and more aligned with who you are, and what you want.

It might feel counterintuitive to suggest we should slow down as these platforms persistently make us feel like we should be rushing and shouting and shoving our way to the front of the line, but Recalibrating Instagram is about learning to steer the platform so it works for you, rather than you for it, in 2026.

  • It’s about posting less, but making the posts count.

  • It’s about resisting Instagram’s agenda, and making space for connection and community to germinate and thrive.

  • It’s about making Instagram sustainable so you don’t burn out.

  • It’s about giving you clarity and certainty about what is worth your time, and what you can ignore.

  • It’s about making Instagram feel like a safer place for you to publicly step into your identity as a writer or author.

What You’ll Experience in Recalibrate

WEEK ONE

  • We dig into the weeds of your background and your book’s back-story to uncover insights that will shape everything you do on Instagram from this point onwards.

  • This step makes it possible to start using Instagram in a way that feels authentic to you, rather than something that demands a performance.

  • RESOURCE: a private podcast episode with supporting notes

WEEK TWO

  • We explore who your ideal reader is so you know exactly who you’re trying to reach. Once you know this, you’ll be able to find ways to speak to them so they listen.

  • Without this step you might waste time on time-consuming tactics or posts that won’t work - not because they’re bad or wrong, but because it’s not what your audience are looking for.

  • RESOURCE: a private podcast episode with supporting notes

WEEK THREE

  • We take your Week One and Two insights and use them to create a framework for your Instagram content that will influence how you use the platform for the whole of 2026.

  • This is how you make Instagram sustainable. You won’t try to chase every trend, or burnout from trying to post every day, because you’ll have clarity on what you’re going to post about, firm boundaries around your time, and you’ll have created a plan that fits alongside your life.

  • RESOURCE: a private podcast episode with supporting notes

WEEK FOUR

  • Finally, we generate a bank of post ideas that are personal to you and your book, and are designed to appeal to your reader.

  • I guide you through how to populate your framework with these ideas so you create a plan that will be sustainable, authentic, and effective: you won’t post every day, but when you do post, you’ll make it count.

  • This is how you make Instagram feel safer for you to publicly step into your identity as a writer and author - once you know what you’re doing, and why, showing up will feel less risky.

  • RESOURCE: a pre-recorded video tutorial with supporting notes
